What are the Functions of the Central Coast Sub Region?
Represent & advocate for parents of the Central Coast to the Department of Education (DET).
Promote & support co-operation among school P&C’s and DET.
Represent NSW P&C Federation on the Central Coast.
Recommend to NSW P&C Federation matters that need addressing.
Promote & lobby for public education.
Structure of Central Coast Council P&C Associations
Each school’s P&C (affiliates) is affiliated with the Federation of Parents and Citizens Association of NSW (Federation) and automatically become from the Central Coast Sub-Region s affiliated with their Regional Council. State wide there are 10 Regional Councils and one Sub-Regional Council (us).
Each school P&C on the Central Coast that is affiliated with Federation can elect 2 delegates who can attend and vote at CCC P&C meetings. Each school P&C can also send 3 delegates to the Federation’s annual conference. At Federation’s annual conference, 4 State Councillors are elected from the Central Coast Sub-Region for a 2 year term (2 each in alternative years). State Councillors are automatically members of CCC P&C. Observers from any school are welcome at CCC P&C but don’t have voting rights.
CCC P&C generally meet the last Monday in February, March (AGM), May, July, September and November. Venues and dates will be decided by at least the previous meeting but usually from AGM to AGM.
Agenda items should be sent to the Minute Secretary at least 14 days (preferably 21) prior to the meeting. The agenda is distributed 14 days before the meeting via email.
Responsibilities
School Delegates:
Represent the views of your school’s P&C to CCC P&C.
Report to and from CCC P&C and your school in a timely manner, preferably in writing.
School delegates are responsible for participation in the business of
CCC P&C at general meetings by getting involved in dicussions /
debate and by excercising their vote.
Your participation as a school delegate is vitally important in CCC P&C reaching its objectives.
President:
Is responsible for ensuring the successful functioning of the CCC
P&C, ensures fair participation of all members, adherence to the
constitution and usually chairs meetings. The President also represents
the association outside meetings when public statements or actions are
required.
Vice Presidents:
Take on any presidental duties when invited to do so by the President or when the President is unable to undertake those duties.
Treasurer:
Is responsible for the sound financial management of the CCC P&C.
Minute Secretary:
Prepares in consultation with the President all meeting agendas,
maintains a list of voting members and produces a set of minutes which
are distirbuted within 14 days of the meeting.
Correspondence Secretary:
Is responsible for carrying out the decisions of the meeting and the
receiving, writing and sending of correspondence as directed by CCC
P&C or the President.
Publicity Officer:
To receive, write, send and be spokesperson for CCC P&C, in
conjunction with the President, all media related information and to
disperse such information to the members and maintaining the CCC
P&C website.

A report, in writing, is to be given to CCC P&C within 14 days by anyone attending committee meetings. Reports will be tabled at the next general meeting. All representatives, except the DET Regional Management Advisory Group, are elected from the members by the members at the AGM. The DET Regional Management Advisory Group is attended on a rotational basis chosen from the Executive Committee.

The Executive Committee are elected by and from the school delegates at the AGM (held the last Monday in March). At least two of the executive committee must be state councillors. When a vacancy occurs it can be filled at the next general meeting.
The Executive Committee meets in between general meetings, when necessary, to maintain the business of CCC P&C. The Executive Committee minutes are tabled at the next general meeitng with a view to securing the meeting’s endorsement for decisions taken.
